Key Features and Specifications

The Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) is powered by a quad-core 1.7GHz processor and includes 8GB of internal storage. It supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and Bluetooth Low Energy (LE). The device can decode 4K video at 60 frames per second using H.264, H.265, VP9, and AV1 codecs. Supported HDR formats include HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG. However, Dolby Vision is not available on this model.

The new stick runs on Amazon's Vega OS, moving away from the Android-based Fire OS found on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. Amazon reports that app support is expanding, with over 2,000 apps added in the past year. Major video streaming apps such as Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, Prime Video, and HBO Max are supported, along with others like Peacock, Tubi, and Pluto. Users can also access social media apps like Instagram directly on their TV.

Vega OS supports local video players such as VLC, music streaming apps like Spotify, and gaming services including Xbox. The device also allows VPN connections for specific uses. Amazon has demonstrated that the new Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) operates faster than many competing 4K sticks and native smart TV apps.

Design, Remote, and Availability

The Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) adopts the slimmer form factor introduced with the Fire TV Stick HD earlier this year. It can be powered directly from a TV's USB port using Amazon's Direct Power feature, eliminating the need for a separate power outlet.

Amazon also unveiled a new Fire TV Remote, which ships with the Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) and is available separately for $15. The remote features a flat top, a weighted and rounded bottom for easier handling, and a Home button with a distinct metal surface. A new Star button allows users to assign their favorite app or frequently used feature, such as closed captioning or screen magnification.

The Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) is currently available in the United States, Canada, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and Australia. Amazon plans to launch the device in additional markets next month. The new Fire TV Remote will ship in late October. Amazon also announced plans to release a Fire TV Remote Plus with a premium aluminum body and backlit keys next year.
